Try Hockey For Free Day Coming to Tacoma Twin Rinks November 6th

Tacoma, WA – Tacoma Junior Hockey invites children to Tacoma Twin Rinks on Saturday, November 6th for a Try Hockey For Free clinic. Starting at 10:15am, local youth, ages 4 and up, are encouraged to experience ice hockey for the first time and learn the basic skills in a fun, safe environment.

“We look forward to welcoming families to Tacoma Twin Rinks to try our great sport of ice hockey” said Donna Kaufman. “Our goal is for these families to enjoy watching their kids learn new skills with big smiles on their faces.”

USA Hockey’s Try Hockey program, with the support of the National Hockey League and NHL member clubs, among others, is designed to provide youth hockey associations with a national platform for introducing children to the sport, free of charge. SportsEngine is the presenting sponsor of Try Hockey For Free Day, while Chipotle and Pure Hockey are also official sponsors of the event. USA Hockey has about 350 locations offering this unique opportunity to kids nationwide.

This Try Hockey for Free event is designed to provide kids ages 4 to 9 the opportunity to try hockey in a FUN, safe environment with trained coaching staff.

No experience necessary! There will be plenty of assistance on hand to be sure your child has the best first hockey experience and answer any questions you might have. Please arrive at least 30min before to get ready to go on the ice. The clinic will end at 11:15am

Once registered, if participants are in need of purchasing their equipment, you can visit one of the Elevate Sporting locations to get fitted.

For all Launch Pad players who are doing hockey for the very first time.

We have teamed up with Elevate Sporting to provide a Learn to play deal for first time skaters that are registered in the Beginner Learn to Play hockey class for the first time. You can participate in the following:

1: New skater can show their Learn to Play registration receipt (or email) and get a one-time 25% off your first purchase. Can be gear from head to toe or 1 single item or whatever items you purchase in your first transaction.

2: Skater will have the ability to trade up any Elevate Purchased gear during this Learn to play session at 70% credit value of your purchase price.

3: If it ends up hockey is not for you, you will also have a 70% sell back option to Elevate for any Lean to play Purchased equipment from Elevate (jocks, tape and accessories not included). Valid at 70% of your LTP Purchase Price Up until and through 10 days from end of dated session.

Elevate Lean to play deal is a one-time special and can only be used for the first time transaction/purchase. Special is only valid for first time skaters from the start date of the registration receipt through 10 days after Learn to Play session is over. Valid only for the person who is registered for the beginner Lean to Play and on the current registration receipt/email. Cannot be used for any other person at any other time. Sosa’s Home Grown Spring Training

This will be a 8 week schedule. on-ice 3 times per week. starting Monday 10th. ending July 3rd. classes will be Monday nights, Wednesday nights and Saturday around noon. These skills and high performance training skates are ran by Daniel Sosa, Tyler Brown, and Dawson Butt. Tyler and Dawson both played in the WHL for 5 and 4 years respectively. Daniel was a WHL Bantam draft pick in 2010, and coaches the U18AA team in Tacoma.

We will be working on various skills: skating/powerskating, stickhandling, shooting, passing, Small area games, and overall hockey IQ. These skates are for players at the AA or AAA level, that are driven and looking to improve this summer.

Mondays 5:30-6:30pm or 6:45-7:45

Wednesdays 6:45-7:45pm or 8-9:00p,
